Hmmm.
Hmmmmmmmm.I think it could grow on me. Is it TA-rant or TAH-rant? Google tells me it's a surname, and the surname is from a river in Dorset (England). The more I say it, the more I start to like the sound. I like TA-rant much better than TAH-rant though. Maybe because TAH-rant (in my accent anyway) sounds just a bit to close to tyrant?Tarry is fine for a nn, I think, again if it has a short A. I don't think anyone uses it to mean "linger" enough for it to be a problem. But if it's TAH-ree it sounds like he's covered in tar, and not so great.
