Re: I keep coming back to Roland- ETA another option
Euh, I never did like Roland much. There's nothing wrong with it, but to me its lacking in colour and flavour. It's kind of like breadfruit, all white and thick and starchy. But that wasn't really what you were asking. I think Solomon is seriously cool. If it was me, I'd use Solomon for the first name and Sol or Solly for short.
Gilliland is brilliant. At the moment I'm kind of getting into surnames (with meaning, like maiden names) being used as middle names. Gilliland has a such a great sound.
I'd totally use Solomon Gilliland.Roland Solomon Gilliland Lastname IS kind of a lot. If I saw it or heard it I'd be like woaa... too much! But, personal meaning can definitely overrule flow. In the end, I think it would be how much the lack of flow would bother you.
It's really, really L heavy too.I love Ariel, when it's said AH-ree-el and not AIR-ee-el like they do in the Little Mermaid. I like Ari a little more, though. And I think Roland Ari Gilliland flows better. Gives you a break from the Ls. Leo Alexander - b. 2012Maeve Luna & Tamsin Rose - b. 2014

I'd LOVE to use Solomon nn Solly, but dh's boss is Saul, and it's too close for dh's liking. And Ariel would definitely be the "ah" not "air" pronunciation.

Aw, bad luck :/ Personally I'd use Solomon anyway despite bosses, but that's just me.Yay :D I admit people saying "air" for ari- names is a pet peeve for me.

Ariel is much better when pronounced AR-iel instead of AIR-iel. The second pronunciation makes me cringe.
