Re: WDYT??
Hah, when my daughter was a baby there was a mom in my mom's group with a baby daughter named Greenleigh. I just think it really misses the mark - kind of a fantasy storybook name that nobody would really want to bear through life, not very pretty and not even really very fantastic. At least spell it Greenlea, is my thought - to make the image of a field more immediate, and the surnaminess/trendiness fade away.I used to hate Meadow because it made me think of cattle and cow-pies. But then I overheard someone calling a girl Meadow, and I thought - hey, it's not so bad. It's just a little eccentric or hippie because it's so word-y, and not in a bad way - it's only a little weirder than River. I'm fine with it, although it's nms. It's much nicer than Greenleigh.Eden - I've always liked this because I knew an Eden once who was a striking, intense person. I think it's spiffy and smart as well as garden-y.Saskia - this always sounds stuckup and mean to me. I feel like it'll be the Tiffany or Kierstin of the 2030's. Petra - it's a pretty name on paper and nothing's really wrong with it. But the pet- part puts me off, and the sound that echoes "petrified." I feel like it is both too cute and too cold.Jada - it's alright. Kind of mediocre, and doesn't personally appeal to me. Hazel - this name feels ugly and dark to me. Also self-consciously antique. I don't like it.Heidi - a nice bright and also dated nameMagnolia - too florid for me personally, but not a bad name.- mirfak
