I thinks masculine names on girls can be kind of fun sometimes, like Winifred 'Fred'.
I can see how James is not extremely masculine-sounding. But I don't like it. *shrug*

I agree, I like masculine nicknames that are short for longer feminine names (Charlie for Charlotte is super popular), but it is nice for the young girl to have the option.
