Opinions on Kourtney Kardashian's Son's Name
She named her son Reign Aston. She was convinced she would have a girl in the beginning, and would call her "Rain." But she changed the spelling. What do you guys think?

I think Rain sounds better than Reign. Reign is corny.

I love Reign spelled that way. I knew a little girl with that name. "Riegn Aston" is a bit too hipster for my liking though.

I think Reign is beyond silly. It's trying way too hard. I agree with mirfak that Rain would suit boy or girl. Like any other nature name, it's unisex. Spellings may vary (Brook vs. Brooke, Ocean vs. Oceane) but these names are still unisex.

I don't understand why she would not just call him Rain. It's not like it's a gendered thing in English. Reign feels similar to "royalty" names, like King or Royal or Prince or Duke. Not my style, but probably something this young man can bear stylishly - probably more stylishly than he would bear Rain, and without seeming to put on any airs.I'm pleased that she didn't name him Rein (pronounced rain).
I would have preferred Rayner. But that's me.

Wasn't there another celebrity baby who was given the name Reign? I want to say it was a girl, too. This seems to be the celebrity baby name du jour.

I've always thought it was odd when people give their children names like the one's you've described above. It kind of does the opposite of what they mean for it to, simply by trying to hard. Rain or Rayner, or Rainier would have been nicer.
