My husband and I are looking to join a new church. they sent us a letter and somehow I misspelled my daughter's name as Miriava. I think it's kind of a pretty name. that's about it? Obviously I couldn't use it but I wanted to see if other people think it's usable

Would it be Mee-ree-ay-vah or Mee-ree-ah-vah? I think it's definitely usable. I don't know that I like it, but it's not super off the wall. Pleasing sounds and maybe if it had a history and background it would catch my interest better.

It is pretty, and it sounds surprisingly convincing! Well done to your subconscious mind. Perhaps you could suggest it one day for a possible future niece?

That would make family events even more fun. :-) On my side we have a Mira and a Miriam, on my husband's we have a Mary and a Miriam. Throwing in a Miriava would be too much - it would be like at my daughter's baptism when Mira, Mary, Miriam and a cat named Moya were all in the room together.

I want to say mee-ree-ay-va, but that's pretty awkward. So now I'm trying meer-ay-va, which seems to work better. It is pretty. Sounds nice but looks odd, I think.

I do like Miriava though! I was looking at Marzena earlier this week and it has the same vibe as that name to me.
Unusual, yet has familiar sounds and a lively spelling. I would likely never use it, but I do appreciate it.

This is even funnier now that I know it was a church that misspelled it, like they wouldn't have known Miriam in the first place!
