Miriava
My husband and I are looking to join a new church. they sent us a letter and somehow I misspelled my daughter's name as Miriava. I think it's kind of a pretty name. that's about it? Obviously I couldn't use it but I wanted to see if other people think it's usable

Would it be Mee-ree-ay-vah or Mee-ree-ah-vah? I think it's definitely usable. I don't know that I like it, but it's not super off the wall. Pleasing sounds and maybe if it had a history and background it would catch my interest better.

It is pretty, and it sounds surprisingly convincing! Well done to your subconscious mind. Perhaps you could suggest it one day for a possible future niece?

That would make family events even more fun. :-) On my side we have a Mira and a Miriam, on my husband's we have a Mary and a Miriam. Throwing in a Miriava would be too much - it would be like at my daughter's baptism when Mira, Mary, Miriam and a cat named Moya were all in the room together.

Moya is brilliant for a cat!

Ooh, I like it. It's very pretty. I agree that it would be perfect for a fantasy character! In real life, not so much (at least as a first name).

When you see it, you have to think a moment how to say it. But it's pretty. Perhaps spelled Miri-Ava.

That's cute. Kind of sounds like the name of a medication, but still has a pretty sound.

I'm saying "meer-ee-AY-vuh" and I think the sound is quite pretty. If I met one, I'd assume it's a mash-up of Miriam and Ava, perhaps for the purposes of honoring.

I think it sounds beautiful. Would be perfect for a fantasy character.

Yes, good idea!

It's both very pretty and also sounds like something I should talk to my doctor about to see if it's right for me.

I want to say mee-ree-ay-va, but that's pretty awkward. So now I'm trying meer-ay-va, which seems to work better. It is pretty. Sounds nice but looks odd, I think.Miriam is better. :)

That's pretty funny. I do like Miriava though! I was looking at Marzena earlier this week and it has the same vibe as that name to me. Unusual, yet has familiar sounds and a lively spelling. I would likely never use it, but I do appreciate it.

This is even funnier now that I know it was a church that misspelled it, like they wouldn't have known Miriam in the first place! It does have a pretty sound, I'll give it that.

Readable MessageSorry! The church spelled my daughter's name as Miriava. I think it's rather pretty and am wondering what others think. Do you guys think it's usable? It has a modern sound.
