I like it, but I prefer Elias. It just gives off a good vibe.

I love the name Eli. To me it sounds traditional and yet modern at the same time. Kind of hip and smart.

Sweet, simple and handsome. I like it.

I like it. It's simple and sweet, but still maintains that strong male biblical history feeling. I prefer it as a full name, rather than a nickname for something like Elijah or Elias.

I have loved Eli for many years. I see it is as strong and rugged and outdoorsy. I also love it as a nickname for Elias and Elijah.

I really don't like it. It's slimy and the spelling makes me uncomfortable.

Eel-eye; (h)'e lie. It's sort of snakelike and unreliable. And has the fogy quality of names like Jethro and Enoch. I don't like it. Though I don't hate it so much that I'd necessary notice it at all.

A great one! I have a nephew who will be three years old later in the year and his name is Eli. Had we not had a nephew with this name, I would have definitely considered using it myself. We considered it for Jasper's mn, so both DH and I like it.

Not really much on its own. But if it's a nickname for Elias or Elijah, a whole new dimension is added. It's kinda spiffy on its own, especially so when paired with the right middle name, but I usually prefer to add more options when I can. Eli on its own just seems so limiting.I see a young family man splitting wood when I think of Eli.
