Re: WDYT of Alice?
in reply to a message by Cate
I love Alice, it is one of my top names. I've found it's very popular at BtN, and I have no doubt it'll be in the top 20 baby names in the U.S. in the next ten years or so.I think for a lot of years, people used Alison when they could have been using Alice all along. She was just considered old fashioned for a while -- she now fits it nicely with all the Isabellas and Roses and Lilys.I don't remember what first attracted me to Alice. I suppose just the sound, and I don't have many personal favorite A names. I probably stayed for the great associations and feedback. Sometimes I think about Alix and Alicia too, but I'd be more inclined to use Alice.I think of Alice in Wonderland, one of Tina Fey's babies, and the woman my uncle dated before he passed away. She was so sweet, so strong, and rocked a red pixie cut. Loved her, she's what really makes me think of Alice as the backbone of a team. Alice from the Brady Bunch is also hilarious, as well as a backbone of a team. :)My Alice combo that I'm going back and forth with is Alice Virginia Laure or Alice Virginia Glory. Some others:Alice Pleasance - This was the full name of the little girl Alice in Wonderland was named after. This combo is what attracted me to the name Pleasance as well.
Alice Wilhelmina
Alice Valencia
Alice Valentine
Alice Melody
Alice Memory
Alice Gloria
Alice Wren
Alice Evening
Alice Yvette
Alice Catrina
Alice Isobel
Alice Beatrix
Alice Leatrice - nah too much same sound
Alice Georgia / Georgina
