I love Sherry. It's charming. I knew a Sherry ...
Maxine is a name I'm ambivalent about. As a middle name, it's rad.
Patience is ick. Spare me the preciousness.

My aunt's name is Maxine, but she goes by Mackie and always has. I used to hate Maxine but now it's starting to seem borderline stylish. Like Maxine is actually kinda badass when I think about it. Also, would be a great name for a dog.Sherry is so awful I can barely even say it. Only thing worse is Brandy or God forbid Brandi.Patience is not my style at all. I can get behind some of those strange Puritan virtue names, but this one feels cheesy and tacky. Once read a book with a Puritan character named Waitstill. Thought that was kinda cool but also kinda a weird "virtue."

I don't mind Maxine- not something I'd ever use because I like other things better but I kind of like the 'butch' feel I get from it and I like the nicknames Max and Maxi. It seems like a super sporty name and I enjoy it. Much more than Maxima, which seems like they're trying to pretty up the butch.Sherry - I think of alcoholPatience - I don't mind the sound but I'm not sure I really see Patience as a virtue? It has it's place at times but it isn't like Verity (truth) or Prudence (wisdom), which are kind of universally applicable traits. I don't think people should be eternally patient. I also don't think anyone should be constantly impatient. Yeah. It is one of those names I can't get past the meaning because it's so blatant.

Maxine- outdated, reminds me of the cartoon character though.
Sherry- I can never like this name because it's my MIL's name and she's the spawn of Satan.
Patience- I like it! I probably wouldn't use it in real life but I like it.

Patience is interesting, but it's definitely not my favorite virtue name. It sounds too much like an admonition to me.Sherry is dated and boozy. I have mixed feelings about Maxine. Sometimes I think it's sort of retro and cool. Other times, it feels so bland and heavy.

I love the name Maxine since I was a kid. I would name a child thisI don't find the name Sherry horrible or lovely, just meh. It gives me 'positive vibes :P'I don't generally like virtue names, and Patience is one that seems particularly dry and uptight.:0)

I like Max. A lot. Maxines ok. Not my fav max name bug whatever. Sherry is too old. Ugly. Patience... I know I'm from Pennsylvania and all but damn. Patience was one virtue name that should never have caught on. It's the one thing I don't or will ever have. What do you tell her "Patience, you're getting on my nerves." Wtf

I like Maxine a lot. Don't care for Sherry, it feels dated to me.I like the -ence of Patience but not so much the first syllable; not really my thing.

I've always kind of liked Maxine. It's spunky and happy.
I like the sound of Sherry, but not the fact that it's liquor. There are many "alcohol names" that sound nice, like Chardonnay and Marsala, but I still wouldn't want to use them.
Patience sounds too much like an old lady to me and I find the sound unattractive.

I love Maxine and Patience, but Sherry doesn't do much for me. Cherie is more appealing.

The only one I can say I like is Sherry. My aunt's name is pronounced the same way but spelled Shari, and I like that spelling better. Hardly ever see it compared to Sherry.
Patience is a bit too storybook, but it's not awful.
Maxine is ugly. It sounds like something you spray on cuts to disinfect them, or onto furniture to keep it shiny.

I always want to say Shari like SHAR-ee.
