From what I understand, it's like a contracted form of Alexandra. I first heard it on someone in college, and haven't heard it in real life since.The strange part was when I looked up past usage statistics to add it to this site, and found a bunch of late 19th century European men (mainly Italian or Spanish) named Alendra. No idea what it could have derived from in that case!Please rate my personal short name lists (the latter includes combos):
