I disagree. I prefer the spelling Allie.

Allie looks far less weird to me! Ally looks like a typo for Alley. That said, either of them is far preferable to Ali, when Ali is pronounced like the beginning of Alison instead of the ln of the former Cassius Clay!

I prefer Ally. Allie looks too masculin to me because we use this as a nn for my brother Alistair.

I like Allie better, but I don't like either as a full name, so as a nickname it can depend on what seems to fit the person better

Ally is a word that's pronounced differently. Allie is the name.

Ally looks too much like the word ally.
I like Aly best but Allie is fine too. I've also seen Ali as a nickname for Alexandra but that looks like the boys name.

I prefer Allie- for some reason it just looks better to me. Ally looks too much like the word "ally." Either way, I think it should be an nickname for Allison rather than a full name.ETA: I also like Ali if it's strictly a nickname.

Allie, though I also love the spelling Ali!

When I see Ali in print, I automatically think, and would say, the pronunciation e-LEE.

I think it looks weird spelled Ally, like the English word ally. I've known a lot of people with this name who spell it Allie so I prefer it spelled that way.
