It seems double-dated. The spelling alone makes it feel Victorian or thereabouts, and the pronunciation and the variant spellings are very sixties-seventies Afro-American.
Also, not fond of the tit in the middle, which is more than just a combo of letters, as in the Swallows and Amazons series (I think) a character named Letitia was called Titty.

Yes, you're right, Titty in Swallows and Amazons. I'm guessing when the series was written, that was ok.
