Eliane
I love Eliana but lately I've also been thinking a lot about Eliane. What do you think of Eliane? Do you prefer it over Eliana? Is it less frilly? Do you get different images from these two names?

I love Eliana and Eliane. My only qualms with Eliane is that it looks like someone messed up when trying to spell Elaine, I worry that people will also mispronounce it as Elaine. Also it sounds very similar to the boy's name Elian.Other than that I love it. I also love both Ariana and Ariane which remind me of Eliana and Eliane.

I like Éliane and much prefer it to Eliana, but that could be due to familiarity. Eliana sounds like a rather princessy little girl, and Éliane sounds like a calm, intelligent adult - but the Élianes I have known are all older ladies, & the Éliane in my family is over 70.
Not sure where you are, but it might be tricky to use in an English-speaking country: it's quite likely to be confused with Elaine.

Do you have French ancestors as well? :) Eliane is rather dated in France, but I like it anyway :) Most women I have met with this name were over 60. I think it's elegant and down to earth.

I strongly, strongly dislike Eliana; however, I love Eliane. What a difference a syllable makes!Whereas Eliana is, in my opinion, so airy that it's vacuous, Eliane is cosmopolitan and grounded.
