The best French name ever...
Trawling the net for roses for my imaginary garden (yes I know, I've got a lot of time on my hands ok?!), I came across the magnificently named Ghislaine de Féligonde. Which struck me as the most elegant French name I've ever heard!http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/167578

Can't say I'm crazy about Ghislaine, but yes, it's very elegant.

I think that sounds very heavy and rather inelegant.

Hi !!!Ghislaine de Féligonde?
Yes. It seems the name of a Duchess or a Medieval princess.
It is quite elegant. But if I think about Ghislaine it has a complex sound that is quite unpleasant. It is not familiar to me.

I only like it pronounced with a hard 'g' 'Gee LEN', rather than 'zhis len'But really I find the beauty of this name is how it looks written down

It's funny I've never heard it said with a hard G. I've met a few women with this name and they all pronounce it 'zheez-LEN', but they are all French so I guess that's why.
