Eja
Met with some family members the other night. They're expecting a baby boy, and their frontrunner name is Eja. It's pronounced like "Asia". It's a new one for me. Not my personal style, but they're lovely people and are sure to have a lovely baby. Opinions? Also, does anybody know the origin? I had trouble finding it.

I prefer Asa, Eja is fine though.

Are you sure that it's not Eje?I'm not liking it for a boy..

My thoughts:
- a version of Eija,
- Scandinavian
- pronounced ay-a
- feminineIt messes with my head that it's for a boy and pronounced like Asia.

Isn't that the name of Shania Twain's son?People will probably think they named the baby after him.

I guessed the pronunciation on the first try, so I guess that's good.
It's not my style either, but I don't think it's bad.
It's better than Asa IMO.
I would expect that it'd be mispronounced often, though, and I would definitely screw up and assume an Eja was a female.
