I think it works well as a middle name, less well as a first name...I want to like it more than I actually do...
I like that it's a color, a plant, and linked to wisdom (among other things), but I mainly think of sausage when I hear it.
I hate Saige because it looks misspelled. If someone used it just because they liked the sound but wanted to distance the name from the word's meaning and associations, then it might make sense, but I'd still dislike it in that case.
