Re: Lauren and Caitlin
in reply to a message by Martha
My name. I'm Catalina with half my family and Caitlin with the other half.
These are THE most common names in my age bracket/social group in the US. It was a little weird for me, actually, because in the UK and Ireland Caitlin is much less common and more traditional, and often pronounced similarly to Cathleen (with the breathy Irish T sound instead of a TH), at least in the part of Ireland my grandparents are from (Cork/Cobh). And then I came to the states and was like, OH. There's eight of us in my class.
Anyways, I like Caitlin a lot but I regret how popular it is in the states. At least in Europe it is rarely spelled any other way. Lauren is boring for me and I have a lot of negative experiences with Laurens in general. However, I love Laura.
I would expect siblings to be:
Erin
Shannon
Kelly
Audrey
Tess
Tessa
Bridget
Claire
Robin
Jocelyn
Megan
Luke
Rory
Daniel
Joseph
Sullivan
Wesley
Owen
