Nimue
I really like this name but I think it it would get mispronounced very often. Is it too uncommon or is it usable?

I think it’s usable. I say Nim-oo-ay, and I don’t think it’s that difficult to get right. I have a name that gets mispronounced and it’s fine. It’s a very gorgeous name, unusual, but not ridiculous.

I like it! I just wasn’t sure how it was pronounced at first.

Hi !!!I love this name!
Celtic names sometimes are pronounced like Italian grammar and this is the case as I pronounce it easily and right.Anyway I can imagine that is would be difficult in the English-speaking world. This is why I suggest you to spell it Nimuë. With this little change (the name is official not a creative one) people would think it were French (like Noëlle or Maëlle) and maybe this help them to achieve the right pronounciation.

i think the pronunciation is relatively simple for sole English speakers, compared to many other names. me and my family have some very hard to pronounce Hungarian names, some with pronunciation rules not so common outside of Hungarian (ex. s is sh), and yea it's a pain, but once enough people know you it's fine. it'd be more of a problem if you live/work somewhere where you constantly meet new people, but even then like...people can and should learn.i used to be more reserved and nervous about picking a name that'd be hard to pronounce, and i admit there's still a limit to what i personally would choose, but still- why cater to others over something so silly? especially if you live in say, the US, which is multicultural enough that people should just learn to ask for pronunciation, go "ah, ok", and move on. eespecially, i repeat, since Nimue is so simple for people familiar with many of the other most spoken European languages. people should learn that e more often than not makes a new syllable.also, i can see Nimue getting more popular. sorry for the rant lol

I love it too, I think it's beautiful. That said, it would always get mispronounced. I know for a fact that I had no idea how to pronounce it when I first saw it.
