Huskies
At my local animal shelter where I will be working at soon as a weekend volunteer :D, are four huskies up for adoption. The names picked for them are interesting and instantly grabbed my attention.
Kirima
Amka
Inuksuk
Tarrick
(Kirima & Terrick are my favorites)

Tarrick and Amka are good husky names.
Kirima looks Russian, but sounds Arabic. What's the info on that one?

Some name sites say it's eskimo and means "hill". But take that with a grain of salt, baby name sites aren't always reliable.
It would make sense for a shelter to pick Eskimo names for Huskies.

If they are saying it's Eskimo I'd throw the meaning out. Eskimo is pretty derogatory and Inuit is the correct term.
Some sites say Eskimo, some say Inuit. Some say Native American. One says Chinese. One says Japanese. One says Kikuyu.
Most baby name sites just copy each other, so if one wrote "Eskimo" a bunch more will do it, politically correct or not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good to know. Thanks.
Not terrible name ideas, but am I the only one who would have named them Russian or Kazakh names because they're Siberian huskies?

What do you mean?
Does anyone know what it means or where it comes from?
Oh, haha. Your guess is as good as mine. Brand new name to me.
It sounds Russian origin to me as well along with a few other nations. where it originated from who knows. \:
It does sound like an actual name though. A name I can picture on a foreign woman or child.

I love huskies! They’re such big, beautiful, expressive dogs. Would totally get one if I had a larger house.
I like these names (for huskies specifically):
Inuksuk (an inuksuk is a guidepost in the shape of a human, used by Inuit people)
Kirima
Amka
I like Terrick as a name but don’t think it fits a husky (maybe a bullmastiff or bulldog)
