Arsenio Hall...I don't mind Arsinoë and can see the appeal. I did not think of arson. But did think of Arsenio Hall. He's not super popular anymore, so probably not a big deal.

I think of Cleopatra’s family when I see Arsinoë. I think it’s so pretty. I have to say that ar-SIN-oh-ay has never made me think of arson - or Arsenio Hall, for that matter.

I have always liked Zoë and I'm okay with Chloë, but putting the -oë ending on a longer name takes it from snappy to ridiculous.

I like this name but I keep mixing up the syllables and saying "Arsenio" instead!

Is this a real name? I know it from Kendare Blake’s “Three Dark Queens” series (Arsinoe, no accent)

Wow, Google gives me a clear yes! I assumed it was invented for the fantasy novel. I’d never heard it before.

It looks cool but I can't get over the arson thing!

terrible

It doesn't work at all. "arson", "arse"...too much teasing potential.

Yes, it is Greek.

ArsonI want to like it but just can’t get past arson.

NoGreat meaning. Extremely unfortunate sound. I wouldn't give my kid a name that began with "arse".

I love it, but it's been on my gp list for years. I thought the 1st syllable might make it unusable, but I've also rarely seen it be brought up. I'm also not sure if pronunciation might be too much to deal with where I live.

Don't like it at all, arsenal.

Arsenic or Arsenio Hall. Whatever happened to him anyway?

I know this was a popular name in Cleopatra's family, and was used multiple times, but I've only ever read it. How is it said? I really like the idea of it.

"AR-SIN-OH-AY" according to its page. That's better than what I thought it was pronounced like (ars-in-oh).

Thanks!

GorgeousThis name is so silken.

Come to think of it, it could be a great brand name for toilet paper...

That made me laugh so hard hahaha If I ever see a toilet paper called Arsinoe (especially with the fancy trema) I think I'll have a laughing fit.
