Escarlata
Thoughts? It's the Spanish form of Scarlet (in fact, it's also the Spanish word for the colour) and it's pronounced es-kar-LA-ta.I wouldn't use it since it's kind of over-the-top, however it's a pretty name. I find it usable for a character in a story.

I'm not a fan, it's a bit too extra even for me.
I don't love Scarlet, but I much prefer Scarlet to Escarlata. Also the name conjures a range of associations, from 'escargot' to 'scar' (same with Scarlet, I knew a cat called Scarlet who I nicknamed 'Scarface' much to her owner's resignation, she was a neat cat) to 'latte'-creamy-coffee, the combination of which actually gives me a bit of a queasy feeling for some silly, delicate reason. It just makes the name a tiny bit...not pleasant? in a way. Of course, this is specific to the way my brain works, but that's just my impression.
