It sounds vaguely like it might be a name in Scandinavia. In the US, not so much. It's not the Hell association that's the trouble, after all, Helen has been commonplace forever. It's that now people say hella to mean hell of a: I went to Starbucks and it was hella crowded, like that. It's actually a very irritating bit of hipster-talk.Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!

yeah, I do get that association, and I've never met them so IDK if where they are from, I just know it's not a common name and it seemed abnormal
