Cardinal reminds me of the bird, the football & baseball team and the religious title all in one. It has a bit of everything.

Cardinal is cool in that it sounds like a title but it's actually a bird. It's not very "namey" though. Raddix is more namey but not very attractive. Sounds like a Pokémon. Raddix and Cardinal do match as a set. Unexpected and weird - both sound like animals or superheroes. Great for a story!

Raddix reminds me of Maddox but more rad. I can imagine a sci-fi inspired metal band with this name.
Cardinal would be cute if it were just the bird, but there is also the Catholic clergy and cardinal sins, which is weird and emo. It isn't an awful name, and I like it better than Dove, Toucan, Mallard, or Crane. But I like Robin, Hawk, Raven or even Finch better.

Cardinal sins is an interesting association. I did think of the adjective, but it seems neutral/positive to me (if anything, I associate a compass, like "cardinal directions"). The clergy thing I overlook because the bird is my strongest association, and Bishop is a semi-common name anyway. It's also a flower.

I remember someone posting about Raddix but don't remember the reasoning behind it. Was it a smoosh name? It's one of the weirdest, ugliest names I've ever seen.

Cardinal is not my style, but at least he can shorten it to Cardin, which at least sounds name-y. There's no saving Raddix.

Cardinal is actually cute. Raddix, on the other hand... Especially not for a girl.

There are better bird names out there, like Robin, Dove, Swan or even Oriole! People will assume she was named after the church official.
And Raddix... ouch. It sounds like the name of either a medication, a bleach brand or a mathematical term.

I'd pick Cardinal over Swan or Oriole and maybe Dove.

Raddix sounds like cold medicine. "Get rapid cold symptom relief with Raddix! Raddix: feel well anytime".
I think they were going for something cool and edgy, but it wound up sounding like a window cleaner. I suppose you can have whatever stupid name your parents want when you're that rich, because you'll never have to apply for a job.
Cardinal is better than Raddix, but it's still weird. It just doesn't sound natural as a name. Cardinal Madden's sounds kind of like a hunting gear store. If I overheard the names Raddix Madden or Cardinal Madden, I would not assume they were the names of people.

What even is a raddix? That's just dumb. Sounds like rat dicks or radish. An Raddix Madden sounds dumb too.

Cardinal…why do I find it boring? It feels as if all the other ‘edgy’ word names were already taken and they had to settle on this. It is nicer than Raddix at least.
Will his nn be Card? I would actually find that more appealing than Cardinal.
