Great, it’s better than any trendy name ever. I’d use it.

It sounds very nice, but I'm not a fan of hyphenated names. Furthermore, I'd prefer the first name Mary with the middle name Kate...or vice versa, Kate Mary.

Marianna Kate or Katelyn Mary would be something different.

I love those combinations!!

If I wanted a Mary-Kate, which I don't (don't enjoy hyphenated names in general), I'd go for Mary Katharine and just let Mary-Kate happen or not. It's got the same faux-family name sound as, say, Pollyanna. And it's probably that vintage too: Pollyanna or even Anne of Green Gables might well have a Mary-Kate friend.

All I get is Maureen O'Hara in the Quiet Man. Vintage movie, vintage name.

Boring. Outdated.
I hate names like Mary-whatever name.

It's bland and cutesy at time, a basic blond pigtailed kid in a pinafore dress getting her picture taken circa 1977.

Good things: Cute, girl-next-door, friendly. Not so good: Predictable, unimaginative.I wouldn't use it. Mary and Kate are better on their own. Plus, I don't like hyphens.
