It's alright. It's a name of a picturesque touristy town, and it's in a bunch of songs.
Nobody named Cheyenne is effectively depriving any tribes of their identity.
So I think it's fine to use.
However ... I cannot stand it pronounced "Shy-ann." It's not an -anne name and shouldn't sound like one IMO. Anyway I'm so tired of -anne names.
To me it's "Shy-en" or "Shuh-YEN" and if a person named Cheyenne told me her name is "Shy-ann," I'd be like, "OK, Shy-En!"
"Shay-en"would be okay, I could get used to it, but "shay-ann" ... ah ... how. I feel so disappointed in that.
