Ruby is ranked between 30 and 40 in England, Wales and Scotland and 24 in Northern Ireland at the moment and round here it is overused and needs a break. I like the name though I wouldn’t use it due to its popularity. I do however have very fond memories of a placement I did in a nurseries baby room almost 25 years ago and there was an adorable 9 month old called Ruby and her mum called her Ruby Rubes when trying to get her attention.
I love Bryony and would use it if my husband would agree. There was a girl called Bryony in my sister’s class at school and my sister misheard it as Brownie the first day.
