Ryan (like Rhys) are Gaelic and Welsh versions of the English term King. So a term for a male.
Rhiannon in Welsh and Rhioghnach in Irish Gaelic are the terms for Queen so I think I prefer one of those, or the cognate of the Welsh, Riana.
