Fonda?
Saw this name in an old church directory (from the 90s). What do you think? I automatically thought of Jane Fonda.

Definitely sounds like a surname.
It sounds quite nice, I think; I think I'd prefer Lafonda, if anything. Would I use this name though? Nah, probably not!
There's a children's book series called Girl Stuff by Lisi Harrison (of The Clique fame). In it, the mother of one the main character's named each of her daughter after an icon of second-wave feminism, and one of them is Fonda.
I think it's an absurd name.
I do like Jane Fonda.
And now that you're referring to a church directory from the '90s as old, I feel ancient.

I think of the Fonda acting dynastry - Henry, Jane, Brigitte...and whoever else there is.
Not fonda Fonda as a first name though.

I thought of "fondant" right away. Not a fan!
Reminds me of fondue.
I like Lafawnduh better - Kip's soul mate in the movie Napoleon Dynamite!

I am not fond o, Fonda. Jane is pretty much the only association anyone is likely to have with that name, unless it's fondle.
It's okay. I've definitely seen worse.
Maybe as a middle name.
