Soviet names (long)
How do you feel about Soviet communist names?
If you don't know about them, there is Elmira, Marlen, Ninel, Noyabrina, Oktyabrina, Renat, Tomila, Vilen, Vladilen, Vladlen, Vladlena in main database and in submitted database many https://www.behindthename.com/submit/names/usage/soviet - note some of these are not communist, just popular in Soviet era like Vladzimir, Avietta, Avksom(a).
(There is a TLDR at bottom for this section)
Anyways,
My favourites:
Arlen
Dazmira
Gvozdika
Reva / Revo
Vektor
Vemir / Vemira
Vilen
Zarema
Guilty pleasures:
Donbass (I'm just homesick)
Kaleriya (the meaning is just so patriotic it is funny)
Kapitalina (too obvious even to foreign people)
Ket (also short name for ketamine)
Some I think could work being non communist, keeping meaning: Astrela, Donara, Elmira, Maya, Neya, Zarya, Zorya, Zvezda
Maybe a push but Gertruda and Novomir
Absolutely crazy ones: Atiest, Avangard, Barrikada, Bolzhedor, Buntar, Dazdrapertrak (I feel like Dazdraperma is more acceptable), Dekabrist, Dinamit, Dinamo, Distango (meaning), Dzhonrid, Elektrifikatsiya, Energiya, Geliy, Ideya, Industrializatsiya, Industriya, Justali, Kombayn, Komsomol, Lenstalberi, Revolyutsiya, Stalberi, Stalina, Traktor / Traktorin, Traktorina, Voyenmor, Yevraziya
To some extent Karmiya / Krarmiya / Krasarma
TLDR my opinions about some Soviet names
• If you had to name yourself Soviet communist name what would you choose? I would choose Dazmira.
• If you had to name your kids Soviet communist names, that would you choose? B/B B/G G/G. For me, Dekabrin & Revmir, Velir & Astrela, Reva & Vemira.

Astrela and Zorya sound pretty to me, but I have no idea about the meaning. I like Vladlena as well. It's hard to pick names that I don't properly understand, but if I had to rely on the given examples I'd choose Astrela and Zorya (is this even a feminine name?) for my girls and Vladlena for myself.
Thank you, that's really cool. I didn't know the names' meanings, but my girls' actual names also mean star and sun/dawn.
That's very nice coincidence :) I guess you are very drawn to those meanings
In every language, lol.
I like the names Astrela, Donara, Elmira, Maya, Neya, Zarya, Zorya, Zvezda, and Gertruda.
Well, as someone who studied Russian cultural history I think they're interesting, but definitely... inappropriate, for lack of a better word.
That being said, I like Revo, Vektor, Tomila, Traktor, Marlen and Vinel. Komsomol is really fun to say.
If I had to pick one for myself, I'd go with Tomila.
For children, I'd go with:
Kamo & Mels
Rem & Barrikada
Izail & Ket

Well, yes. They are inappropriate in modern day - these names are very outdated. My country was part of Soviet Union and it is even worse here than in Russia.
