Slade & Shy?
Another guy I have worked with recently has two kids. A 4 yo boy named Slade and a two yo girl named Shy (not sky). WDYT?
I don't think I like Shy, and Slade reminds me of the band.

Shy? How horrible! Why would anybody want that for their child?!...Slade makes me think of the character in Teen Titans. It's not as bad as Shy."If you need us, we'll be over here, doing the 'Glad I'm An Only Child' dance." - Sam

I keep looking at this post and my mind keeps switching around the letters to Shade and Sly. Not good.
I think the names are just too much. And like a pp said, Shyness is not a positive trait. It really sucks to be shy.

Slade sounds like a comic book character.Shy is dreadful and and cruel, if you ask me. Shyness is NOT a nice trait to have. I HATE being shy, and I can't imagine why anyone would want to give their child such a negative name.

Slade reminds me of Glade, as in air fresheners. And while Shy could be a cute nickname (I like Sly, and Shy isn't any more negative than that, lol), I really don't think it works as a full name.I'd love to meet a Violet who was called Shy, just for jokes. Ideally, she'd have a big mouth, too. ;)Array

Actually, I'm too young for Rainbow Brite.I was born in 1987, and if I pretended to be a Rainbow Brite fan, I'd be a total, lying poseur. :) The phrase "shy violet" is an old one, though if I recall correctly, they named a character by that in the show, right? I was playing just on the old phrase, but the added 80s dimension makes the idea of Violet "Shy" even more appealing.Array

Though Slade isn't my favorite name ever, I do know a little boy with this name and it really fits him. Shy sounds like the name of one of the seven dwarfs. Sleepy, Dopey, Bashful, Shy...

I don't really like either of them, but I like Slade more than Shy. (Is Shy short for anything?)Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts

No, just Shy. Seems to me if your going to use an adjective for your childs first name, you'd pick a more endearing one. Shy is kinda like naming your kid Lazy or something =)
