it is a popular indian name and i think it means rules and is pronounced sid-dhant

I would put the stress on the last syllable: sid-HAHNT.
The 'i' is short.
The 'a' is long.
The 'dh' as in 'redhead'
It is in fact Siddha + anta, the 'h' at the end can be safely ignored.
