Spellings of "Amy" - what are your favourites???
I have a friend called Amy who is fed up with her name being so boring. She's looking for a new spelling - I wondered what people's favorite spellings are, and whether you like "Ayme", pronounced as in "Jayme".

i also am bored w/ the simple spelling of my name, and though one of my favorite alternatives is amie, i was also looking at aymee too, it gives it a different twist without looking like aim.

Ayme is gimmicky and confusing. For sentimental reasons, I like "Amie", which is the name of my late niece and that great song by "Pure Prairie League".

That's nice.

How about Eighmiee (just kidding)? I say that if her name is too boring, she should change it, rather than making an annoying spelling that she will have to spell out for everyone. How about saying it's short for Amelia or Amynta or Amarantha or Bellamy or something?

How about Aimey? My friend spells her name like that.

How about Aimee? I think that is my favourite form of the name. I'm not too keen on Ayme as it looks like it should be pronounce Aim.

I agree that Aimee (with an accent -- as in Anouk Aimee star of La Dolce Vita) is ultra-cool, froggy references notwithstanding!

Is that "Anouk" as in BabyNouk.com? And which side of the Mississippi is Greece on (or did you wetback your way over here and take a job in an Olympic Diner -- sans green card)?

Actually I airback myself there every so often with Olympic Airways. But the food and wine is much better here.
