It's definately a real name. It is indeed the Celtic/ Gaelic version of the name Molly. Molly is a form of Mary.

This site, being a facts site, has a certain requirement of proof for all name meanings and origins posted, particularly from new or recent posters. Have you got any evidence or sources for the use of Maille as a Gaelic form of Molly (other than sites like babynamesworld.com which are notorious for inventing origins and meanings)?
