I am welsh and my parents told me they got my name off the news about a baby that had been abandoned. As far as I know there is only one other person that has the same name with the same spelling. Pronounced Ker-ul.

I am eager to discover what this means and would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Hi Ceryl,
maybe your name is a form of the Welsh name Ceri (pronounced keri) which means "love".
Ceri is even the name of two rivers, one in Dyfed and the other one in Glamorgan.

Just wondering: how did the reporters know the abandoned baby's name was Ceryl? Did Ceryl's parents leave a mane-tag?
