Hello Nicole,
Elkin is a form of the Hebrew name Elkan (I found some other forms: Elkana, Elkanah, Elkins). The meaning according "35,000 baby names" by Bruce Lansky is "God is jealous" - but I'm not sure if that's right because in this book are MANY mistakes concerning right meanings or origins... :-(
