MEANING OR ORIGIN OF THESE NAMES
My name is Aloma Jaton (First, Middle) and I am curious as to the origin and meaning. I've been told that Aloma is polynesian and that Jaton (pronounced just like a Baton with a J)is French.

According to an ultra-obscure source (http://www.psc.edu/~burkardt/wordplay/pentagram.html), "aloma' signifies a light to yellowish brown color. Kinda like the Stranglers' song "Golden Brown".

Greetings Aloma,My name is also Aloma. I acquired this name from a missionary lady that my Mom was very fond of when she was a young girl. Though I am in mystery as to its origin and meaning myself. I, too, was told it might be of Polynesian descent, though, I am Hawaiian, I am still able to find out if it is or not, lol. I am trying to research my birth name and find its meaning. If you should find anything, I would GREATLY appreciate any information and I will do the same if that works for you. Good Luck and Much blessings, Aloma~
