As Anneza pointed out, the "Iberian peninsula" comprises Spain and Portugal .
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, "Iberia" is derived from the Greek "Beres," namely the Spaniards, but also an Asiatic people near the Caucasus in modern Georgia.
