Hey, cerise does mean cherry in French, but the name Cherisse, means beloved. It's French as well.

I don't know much about French but I did do a French course once. Cerise is pr SER-eece, Cherisse is pr SHER-eece. "Cheri" is dear or loved one, beloved in French (as is "mon cheri" meaning roughly "my dear") so I guess the name comes from there. Maybe.....
