Pronunciation in Russia and Sweden

Hi Gwenhwyfar,

the pronunciation in Russia is:

ksen-yah (stress on the first syllable)

the pronunciation in Sweden is the same or alternatively

kseh-nee-yah (stress on the first syllable as well)

No, it isn't silent!

Hi again Gwenhwyfar!

KS is pronounced just like X in the word "six", so the K isn't silent. Ksenia is just a "spelling" variation of Xenia not a "pronunciation" variation.

OK. I used to think that Xenia was pronounced "zen-ya." Yes, I know. Xenia is the Polish version of Ksenia.
