Does anyone know where the name Gesina
originated? I have been searching for
quite some time now, my parents have
past away, so I am unable to get that
information from them. Any one that
can help with this I would greatly
appriciate. Its a girls name, and I
have Irish, Italian, and German in my
background.

Your name is a further development of the Low German and Frisian name "Gesa" which is short for the Old German name "Gertrud" meaning "spear" + "strength".
