Re: The meaning and origin of my name?
in reply to a message by Eldar
I can't find anything certain but there is one source that claims the name means "God resides with you" in Hebrew and "invinsible" in Turkish.
I can find no evidence to back this up though.
Do you have any idea of the origin of the name?

Thanks for the response. Hmm I was told that it origins from eastern part of Europe.. And one relative claimed that it meant "Leader" But there was no evidence of it being the truth.

Correction: "Leader" As in "Ruler" :| ... Probably wont help, but oh well.

I have found examples of this name in Eastern European countries but still no definite meaning. It is possible that the Hebrew may relate to these names but the second element may well be linked to the Slavic name element 'dar' meaning "gift".
Sorry I can't be of more help. :(---------------------------------------

No need to be sorry, I appreciate the fact you actually took some of your time to do this. Could you recommend any other good sources online?

I've checked nearly all the sources I can think of unfortunately. But if the name has a Germanic origin it may be at:

For Slavic names (medieval):

I hope these are of some help. :)---------------------------------------
