I was just wonderin if any one knows what my name, Tashina, means. I have looked all over the place and am not having any luck. My mom says that it is from some book she read about an Indian Princess, but she doesnt remember if it was Indian or Native Ameriacn. Any help would be apreciated.

I am also looking for the meaning and it is American Indiana. It was in a movie that came out in 1980 or 1981 called the Windwalker and she "Tashina" was an Indian Princess.

Hello,
My sister's name is Tashina too. We have often wondered what it meant. My mom got it from a movie she once saw called"Windwalker".
We have searched this name often and have even asked some Indians at a Indian show they had in our town once. Noone seems to know. She has given up trying to find out. She says its kinda neat having such an unusual name that noone has any idea what the meaning is. I know this doesnt answer your question at all but I just thought you might like to know that someone else has the very same problem you do. Have a great day.

Although I can't say how reliable, the information that I found on Tasha, Tashina and Tashka, says the 3 mean "Birthday of the lord".
It doesn't have an origin to it that is why I doubt the liability of the source.I hope this helps a little anyway,
Magia.

My middle name is Tashina also. My mother said she got it from some movie she had seen and that it had Indian origin, but I have not been able to verify that either.I did once visit a website that said that the name Tashina means "Christmas child," or "glorious gift" in Russian.Isn't that a lovely meaning?!

ist's an name from the lakota language. "tashina" means "cover" or "flat", I think.

Tasha < Natasha < NatalyaNatasha is a Russian diminutive form of Natalya. Natalie is the more familiar form in the West. Tasha etc are just further diminutive forms.
