Carsilius - I fail in finding its meaning.
Hi all!One of my ancestors was called Carsilius. I love this name, but I haven't been able to find its meaning. I tried it on Google, but I came up with nothing. All I managed to find out, was that it's a first name that was used in the very past, but that it's unheard of nowadays.I also found the spelling Karsilius, btw.Can someone please help me out with the meaning and origin of Carsilius/Karsilius? I'd be *eternally* grateful!Thank you very much in advance!Sincerely,Lucille

The name might be derived from the old Roman town, in the west-central region of Italy called Latium, known as "Carseoli" or "Carsioli", which in turn may have been derived from a Roman or Etruscan name whose meaning is now lost.Sorry, that's all I could dig up. Perhaps someone else here may have some other ideas.-- Nanaea
