ArchivesCarsilius - I fail in finding its meaning.
Hi all!
One of my ancestors was called Carsilius. I love this name, but I haven't been able to find its meaning. I tried it on Google, but I came up with nothing.
All I managed to find out, was that it's a first name that was used in the very past, but that it's unheard of nowadays.
I also found the spelling Karsilius, btw.
Can someone please help me out with the meaning and origin of Carsilius/Karsilius? I'd be *eternally* grateful!

The name might be derived from the old Roman town, in the west-central region of Italy called Latium, known as "Carseoli" or "Carsioli", which in turn may have been derived from a Roman or Etruscan name whose meaning is now lost.
