Re Arabic name Sami
Hello,
Whilst going through this wonderful site I came across the Arabic name SAMI; contrary to the meaning listed I understand it to mean 'The All Hearing' its origins as I know it comes from the well versed 99 Attributes of Allah (God), and it is a reference to His ability or attribute of being able to hear everything. As a human limited in the ability to perform the same function of the names meaning, typically Ive been told its recommended that one attaches the name Abdul as a prefix to any attribute of Allah, as ABDUL means 'servant of'. Hence, Abdul Sami - would mean servant of the All Hearing - however Im not sure if attaching the prefix name is essential-please correct if I have it all wrong!!
