Raven is Beautiful!
I love the name Raven! It's uncommon. But, do you know Edgar Allen Poe's poem "The Raven"? It's also about a free bird.

Hmm, when last I read Poe's poem it was about a dark, sinister bird who presumably personified (or avified) the human persona's conscience, squatted in his living room, and refused to move. 'And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting ...' Frankly, if I had to find a poem about a free bird it would more likely be Shelley's skylark, which at least gets to stretch its wings.

Trouble with this sort of name is that unfortunately they can sound a bit hippy-ish and therefore a bit out-of-date. Also when the name refers to looks care should be taken. I met a little blonde girl recently who was called Ebony! Odd, I thought.

How does that name Raven "sound a bit hipp-ish" and "out of date" i could understand it being out of date if it was a name like stef. One that many people have. I know no one else with this name. If anything i have a bit of a problem with people who have names like stef. Their dull, and a bit over used.
