Re: what does Indira mean?
Please start a new thread when you ask an unrelated question: there is little point in having `threads' of discussion otherwise. In Sanskrit, indira means beauty, the etymology is unclear. It is usually the epithet of lakSmI, the goddess of wealth and beauty. It is possibly related to a word for a drop, and the beautiful moon is a drop in the sky. Words which sound as if they are related, like indIvara mean the blue lotus, classically associated with lakSmI.
