Denilson - What Beyond Brazilian Soccer Glory?
Hello & thanks in advance for any information or resources. I am aware that the name Denilson is currently popular due to the talents of the Brazilian soccer star of the same name. The name does not appear to be uncommon in Brazil. That's all I know however. Does it have Portugese roots? Any knowledge as to it's meaning or origin?
Thanks very much.- RJS

Many Brazilians like nn ending in -son, like Gedeilson, Anderson, etc. Denilson may be derived from de + Nilsson (son of Nils). Most Brazilians have European or African ancestors.*A meow massages the heart.*
