"Everyone" includes a lot of people ... but nobody on this board. If you want to get emotional about issues, you will get more results if you select your targets carefully. On this board we are interested in the facts about names, and we all know about Alison already, thank you.

Breathe please. Your punctuation is way too intense. In response to your question: you're right, Alison never originated as a "-son" surname. You're also wrong. It is sometimes used as a boy's name and I may well use it for my hypothetical son, because I think it is lovely as a boy's name. What's the problem with boys sharing your name anyway? Does it somehow violate your feminity or something? I'm just not understanding why this bugs you. I wouldn't really care if there were boys called Sarah...

Well, it could be either depending on how you look at it... I know alisons of both gender, and the boy doesn't seem to be bothered by it..

You need to get a grip, Alison.
And re-think your ignorant & homophobic profile.Edit to say that you changed the homophobic part, but, the get a grip suggestion still stands.
