Humankind first migrated out of Africa hundreds of thousands of years ago. In the last few thousand years, people from many various cultures have moved in and out of Africa as well as every other continent. Just as there are cities in Africa today that obviously have names that are not derived from African languages (Cape Town, Dar Es Salaam, etc.), there are given names used in Africa that have come from other parts of the world.
