Here in South Africa, Marnus is well known. It's a short form of Hermanus, which of course is just our old friend Herman with a Latin looking ending.
There are women and girls called Marna as well!

I got suspicious as I was typing my previous comment, and phoned my pal Marnus for confirmation. Oops! If the dear old chap isn't Hermanus Marinus, and the Marnus is in his case a kind of merger of the two.
In general, Jordan's probably a whole lot righter than me! That'll teach me to generalise from insufficient grounds. (Of course, it won't really ... not on past form ...)
